Unhappy Bear

Yes we do have some big ones here. Those in the pic are about 25 min from my house. About a hour from my house you can get them around 300lb to 500lb. I seen in 09 that would have been hanging weight of 350lb could not get on him fast enough. He was only about 80 yrds but got in the brush to fast before I could get out of the truck.

Can you hunt over an elk carcass? Or is that considered baiting. How hard is it to get a bear tag? I bet you can guess where I am going with all the ???s

Default Tag

It is over the counter for tags here. Except Moose and sheep/goat. I know where you are going and no problem. There are lots of bear here just have to spend the time hiking into them or get lucky like one of my friends this year and shot one while it was sleeping in a clear cut at 100yrds.

Great looking bear there. I have hunted bears in Alberta in the past and also took one in Newfoundland while bowhunting for caribou. I have never hunted them in the states before but would like to try it one day. Love bowhunting those animals.

We have lots here. I just dont spend the time I should going after them. I will be putting in for my 4th yr of spring bear permit so should draw this time. If I get one then I still get to go after one in Fall season. We are allowed 2 a year here. I have lots of friend that fill both tags every year.
